Sarah Fairchild is an artist currently living and working in New York City. Her work is rooted in a concern for more sustainable food sources while exploring feminine themes such as beauty and sensuality. She explores the dialogues between design and painting, depth and flatness, reality and fantasy. Her recent move to NYC has exposed her to couture design and fashion, which she admits is a huge influence in her current work. She graduated with a BFA from the Columbus College of Art and Design in 1994. She served over ten years on the Ohio Art League’s Board of Trustees, two as board president. She recently collaborated with Opera Columbus, serving as the production designer for the production of “Lully’s Armide.” Her work was selected for publication in New American Paintings, International Painting Annual and Studio Visit Magazine. Sarah’s work can be found in several public and private international collections.
