Nancy Smeltzer is a former journalist with 25 years of newspaper experience. Throughout her career, she has worked at newspapers in Missouri, Texas, New York, Washington, D.C., Japan, and Ohio.
After newspapers, she spent several years as a spokesperson for two state agencies and a Fortune 500 corporation. A few years ago, she left the corporate world to purses another career in communications. Instead of telling stories with words, she now tells stories with art.
“A sketchbook goes everywhere I go,” says Nancy. “I never know what will capture my attention: a street corner, construction site, pineapple or my imagination. In my world, colors are bright and people are fanciful. This is a glimpse into the world as I see it. The collection is part of my life travelogue.”
Nancy’s piece “The Traveler” will be featured in Art for Life on September 15. See more of her work at thewomanwhopaints.com.
