George Leach is a native of Youngstown, Ohio and is an attorney and former elementary school teacher who started painting in 1994 as a self-taught artist. His works are in many private and public collections and is represented by the Sharon Weiss gallery of Columbus Short North Arts District.
As a self-taught artist George has learned from the masters as he studies the art around the world during his domestic and international travels. He paints regularly with other artists in his studio and “en plein air.”
“As a criminal defense attorney I draw upon the experience of the people I come in contact with. When I create a work I concentrate on the feeling I want the viewer to have when viewing my work as opposed to the aesthetic value.”
George’s piece “The Schiller Park Girl with Umbrella” will be featured in Art for Life on September 15. See more of his work at www.myohiolawyers.com.
