Laine Bachman has always had an affinity towards drawing and painting. Her parents recognized her talent at an early age and supported her endeavors. At 13, Laine began taking adult classes in watercolor at the local arts center in Middletown, OH. Soon after, she received honorable mention in the student exhibition. Wanting to lean more, she continued her education in art through high school, taking design classes at Miami University in Middletown and the Art Academy in Cincinnati. Upon graduation high school, Laine attended the Columbus College of Art and Design and earned a BFA in painting in 1997.

Inspired by the nature, Bachman infuses the world she creates with archetypal imagery, whimsical themes, and decorative motifs. Working in watercolor and acrylics, her paintings are full of creatures and beings that are all part of the larger story behind her work.

Laine resides in Columbus, Ohio with her husband and daughter, where she spends most of her time in her studio. She shows her work regularly at Sherrie Gallerie in Columbus, and Pendleton Arts Center in Middletown, OH. Throughout the years, her work as garnered several awards and is in private collections.
